Outline of Project



Global Education Course  (Fall of 2011) 
I took an 8 week online course (10 hours per week) through George Mason University.  The focus of the course was to understand the basics of global education and to develop skill with the tools necessary for the implementation thereof.

Travel to Morocco (Spring of 2012)
Via State Department’s IREX program, travelled with 12 other teachers, visited schools and teachers throughout Morocco.

Creation of Website (Spring 2012-Fall 2013)

Travel to South Africa (Spring 2013)
Fulbright Specialist Program.  Visited 6 schools throughout the country and also served as fellow at Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Creation of Global Units (Spring – Summer 2013)
Designed and implemented 6 Global Education Units in Mathematics.  These incorporate student collaboration with schools world-wide utilizing web-based tools.  Also obtained a Grant from Hilton Corporation to support Global Curriculum Development by IHS faculty for two years.

Sabbatical “Extension” (Fall 2013)
I am currently working to create a program culminating in a Global Education Certificate.
